What We Do
Our Programs
Kandelia provides direct programs, connections to community resources, and tools to address systemic inequities so immigrant and refugee families and communities can thrive without having to compromise values, heritage or ethnicity. Leveraging our convener model and years of experience rooted in the Vietnamese community, we meet people where they are with programs that are culturally responsive and holistically enriching.
Who we engage
Many of our programs are based at Seattle World School, one of only a few public schools in the country designed for newly arrived refugee and immigrant youth.
The majority of families have youth between the ages of 11 and 21

testimonial
“From my personal experience, it was really hard to get my job. I had to practice a lot before coming in to my interview. One thing I liked the most about this program was that we basically did this mock interview, or practice interview. It was something that helped me get more confident. I would say that it helped me a lot with getting my first job.“
