Open contractor positions:
Kandelia is seeking an enthusiastic and experienced Conversation Class Instructor to support immigrant and refugee adults in developing their English communication and conversation skills.
The Conversation Class Instructor will lead engaging online conversation classes designed to help adult English Language Learners build confidence and practice practical English in a welcoming and supportive environment. Classes are offered in small groups and are scheduled twice a week, with two one-hour classes each day, typically during morning or early evening hours. Total instructional hours range from 16–25 teaching hours per month.
This position is part of Kandelia’s Family Program, which supports the parents and caregivers of newly arrived immigrant and refugee students in Seattle Public Schools.

Open AYAB positions:
Kandelia Alumni Youth Advisory Board — Now Accepting Members
Kandelia is launching its first-ever Alumni Youth Advisory Board, a small group of young adults who attended Seattle Public Schools as Multilingual Learners after 2020.
Advisory Board members will meet once a month from October 2026 through April 2027 (no meeting in December) and are expected to attend six meetings. Members will receive $400 stipend for their participation.
This is a chance to share your experience and perspective, and to help shape the programs and partnerships that support immigrant and refugee students today.

We are at a point of transition and growth and are looking for individuals who are committed to serving immigrant and refugee communities, and who are aligned with our organizational values.
